Season one of Dana White’s Power Slap championship wrapped up at an event held at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, on March 11. Four new champions were crowned at the event. The main event was the battle between Ron “Wolverine” Bata and Darius “The Destroyer” Mata-Varona for the heavyweight championship.

“The Destroyer” never lost a slap-fighting battle, and he defeated Bata three times. When they met for the fourth time, circumstances had changed. “Wolverine” defeated his opponent in the first round, claiming the heavyweight title.

Initially, the conclusion of Power Slap’s first season was intended to be a pay-per-view event. Nonetheless, UFC president Dana White stated that the event would be available for free viewing on the online streaming platform Rumble.

During a news conference before the fight, the UFC president explained why pay-per-view was not offered. Dana White commented;

“We discussed the business plan for this endeavor and how we would do everything. We discussed putting it on television and developing a social and digital plan, with a pay-per-view at the end. Let’s be honest, I didn’t do myself any favors on New Year’s Eve.”

The Fans Show Support

The majority of slap fights consist of three to five rounds. A striker gets 60 seconds to get up after getting hit. Points are awarded based on the severity of the slap. More than 30 athletes compete in the Power Slap League and are known as “strikers.”

White stated that his strikers were average, family-oriented individuals who enjoyed the competition. The Destroyer Darius Mata-Varona from Missouri, Vernon The Mechanic Cathey from Kansas, Christoper Ko Chris Thomas of North Dakota, and Mike the Slap Jesus Smith from California are one of the finest strikers in the league.

The power slap league has just attracted a significant fan base, and the competitors will be compensated well. The prize money for the candidates for the championship bout is projected to be $5,000.

Some boxers and MMA competitors earn less than $2,000 every battle, but members of the Power Slap League still earn more. The final salary for Power Slap 1 was estimated, but no official information has been disclosed. With win bonuses, a power slap league fighter can earn up to $10,000.

In other highlights, Chris Thomas fought Jesus Gaspar Diaz for the welterweight championship. Diaz won the Power Slap welterweight title with the first slap of the first round, as predicted before the bout.

The light-heavyweight title bout between Vernon Cathey and Ayjay Hintz was one to remember. After being pushed down, Hintz sprang up and smacked “The Mechanic” so hard that he knocked him out. This made him the new light-heavyweight Power Slap champion.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship’s president, Dana White, vows to promote slap fighting as the next big thing in combat sports. The Nevada Athletic Commission has allowed the league to play in Las Vegas.

According to Power Slap President Frank Lamicella, there have been “no severe injuries” in the 25 certified matches held to date. League officials keep safety in mind when preparing for a match.

How Money Line Works?

Moneyline betting is by far the easiest way to place a sports wager. There are no point spreads to parse, no garbage-time free throws to ruin your betting day, and no last-minute meaningless touchdowns to take you from a winner to a loser.

How to Bet Odds

When we, as sports fans, learned our multiplication tables, we aced the number 7. Seven, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42 were easy because we all watched football on the weekends. Multiplication by sevens, then add a three, a six after a missed PAT.

How to Bet on NFL Games

Baseball is America’s pastime, but football is America’s crazed passion, with its weekly schedule of games, millions of television viewers across the country and the world, and the billion-dollar stadiums that serve as Sunday cathedrals in 32 American cities.

What is the Spread?

If you are a golfer or have ever played on a bowling team, think of a point spread like a handicap. It is a way for two teams of differing abilities to play each other on equal footing.  The better team, and the favorite in the game, gives a certain amount …
