There’s not much of a mystery for which teams will be favored to bring home a World Series title in 2023. Taking a peak at the early MLB odds shows that it is the usual suspects that are at the top of the odds chart. But are there teams that are being underrated to bring in another championship?

Here’s a look an early look at the team’s odds of winning the 2023 World Series.

Dodgers are again at the top

Los Angeles won 111 games last season and ran away with the National League West. But the Dodgers, who are the favorite at +500 to win the World Series, burned out and had a season end in disappointment. Los Angeles has made the playoffs every year since 2013 but has only one World Series championship to show for it.

The Dodgers will need to find a way to build around their strong pitching staff. Clayton Kershaw is aging, but Los Angeles has plenty of young prospects in the pipeline to keep the Dodgers machine rolling forward.

Astros ready for title defense

Houston ran through the American League West like a buzzsaw last season. Only a few seasons after being engulfed in a large-scale cheating scandal, the Astros scored a redemptive win by capturing their second World Series crown in the past ten seasons. What made Houston so tough to beat was its overall talent.

While the Astros may lose veteran pitcher Justin Verlander in free agency but will return plenty of talented players to keep them in contention. Houston is +525 to repeat as champions.

Tatis could put San Diego over the top

Fernando Tatis Jr. being suspended for PED use was one of the great what-ifs of last season. The Padres made big deals at the trade deadline last year and were able to sting the heavily favored Dodgers in the playoffs. San Diego has a strong pitching staff, with Joe Musgrove and Yu Darvish at the top of the lineup.

The Padres, who are +1600 to win the title, fell short in the NLCS after running into a hot Phillies team. If San Diego can add a few pieces in free agency, the Padres will be strong contenders again in 2023.

Cardinals ready to pursue title

St. Louis didn’t have enough pitching or a consistent enough offense to win the championship last season. The Cardinals do have plenty of pop in the lineup. Infielders Nolan Arenado and Paul Goldschmidt both provided plenty of pop for St. Louis.

The Cardinals, who are +2500, will once again be facing a division with several rebuilding teams that shouldn’t challenge St. Louis too much in the regular season.

Blue Jays seek to be rewarded for potential

Toronto build its offense around the power of its young superstars, including Vladimir Guerrero Jr. What the Blue Jays, who are +850 to win the World Series, will need to do is find a way to be consistent on the mound to keep up in the American League East Division.

How Money Line Works?

Moneyline betting is by far the easiest way to place a sports wager. There are no point spreads to parse, no garbage-time free throws to ruin your betting day, and no last-minute meaningless touchdowns to take you from a winner to a loser.

How to Bet Odds

When we, as sports fans, learned our multiplication tables, we aced the number 7. Seven, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42 were easy because we all watched football on the weekends. Multiplication by sevens, then add a three, a six after a missed PAT.

How to Bet on NFL Games

Baseball is America’s pastime, but football is America’s crazed passion, with its weekly schedule of games, millions of television viewers across the country and the world, and the billion-dollar stadiums that serve as Sunday cathedrals in 32 American cities.

What is the Spread?

If you are a golfer or have ever played on a bowling team, think of a point spread like a handicap. It is a way for two teams of differing abilities to play each other on equal footing.  The better team, and the favorite in the game, gives a certain amount …
