Power slap has had controversies since it came to the limelight in 2022. Despite the challenges, Dana White has defended it and compared the sport to others that he feels are more dangerous and less talked about.

Medics and top sports personalities have condemned the sport, citing its dangers to the brain and face injuries. Early in the year, a fighter, Sorin Comsa, was left with a swollen and disfigured face but went ahead to win the match. The fight heightened the talk about how dangerous the sport is, with some terming it as a dumb sport.

Joe Rogan does not believe that Dana White’s Power Slap league is essential to the combat sports calendar.

Rogan stated on a recent hipodcast.se program;

“I adore Dana, and I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t observe this. However, that’s not my type of thing.”

The podcaster stated;

“If the UFC were to do anything, I would want them to do kickboxing. Because I believe that to be the undiscovered material. I’m aware that they’re all into this slap boxing and slap fighting craze, making them a lot of money, and that many individuals enjoy it. The fantastic aspect is that they view it on TikTok. But if you’re looking for something else that could be very popular, I’d recommend world championship kickboxing.”

“I love what ONE’s doing,” said Rogan. “They have mixed martial arts and karate sparring. Each style of kickboxing has its own unique set of regulations.”

Not only Joe Rogan is concerned about Dana White’s Power Slap League. Many health professionals are also concerned. Numerous experts are concerned about the fate of concussed individuals who cannot defend themselves.
