For a regular season-ending event, the Wyndham Championship will have a hard time replicating the dramatic finish last season’s event produced.

Last year, the event saw a six-way playoff crown Kevin Kisner the champion. But as end-of-the-year events always do, the Wyndham Championship will provide plenty of drama as players will try to improve their position in the FedEx Cup Standings this week at Sedgefield Country Club.

Here’s a look at what to expect for the PGA Tour’s 46th and final regular season event this week in Greensboro.

Defending champ lacks momentum

Kisner, who won last year’s event on the second playoff hole, missed the cut at last week’s Rocket Mortgage Classic. Overall, Kisner ranks 33rd in the FedEx Cup standings. He has five top 10 finishes but has yet to win an event this season.

Kisner, who is +3300 to win the event outright, finished second in the World Golf Championships-Dell Technologies Matchplay event.

He also tied for third at the Sony Open and finished fourth at the Players Championship. Kisner is +750 to finish in the top five, +400 to place in the top 10, and +175 to end up in the top 20.

No clear-cut favorite

Shane Lowry, Will Zalatoris, and Sung-jae Im enter the Wyndham Champion at +1400 to win the crown. Im last played at the 3M open in June, placing second.

He last won a tournament in October 2021 at the Shriners Children’s Open. Im has seven top-10 finishes this year and is 15th in the FedEx Cup standings.

Lowry doesn’t have a victory this year but has finished in the top 10 four times. Like Lowry, Zalatoris doesn’t have a tour victory this year but has had plenty of success.

Zalatoris has finished in the top 10 eight times and is 11th in the FedEx Cup standings. Despite having a lot of success on the PGA Tour, Zalatoris has never won an event. His lone victory as a professional came on the Korn Ferry Tour.

Sedgefield not a long course

Sedgefield Country club has two par 5s, four par 3s, and 12 par 4s. With a total length of 7,131 yards, this course falls below the average for PGA Tour events.

LIV Tour takes away some of the drama

The Wyndham Championship will see a lot of players jostling for position to stay on the tour. Only the top 125 players get PGA Tour cards for next season. However, with the emergence of the LIV Tour, there will be some changes.

Some players in the top 125: Abraham Ancer, Brooks Kopeka, Charles Howell, Jason Kokrak, and Talor Gooch will all be excluded from the tour because they signed contracts to play on the LIV Tour next season.

High-profile players who are right on the cutline like Callum Tarren (126), Jason Day (127), Rickie Fowler (132), and Webb Simpson (125) could all benefit from those guys being removed from the rankings.

Red, White and Blue

Americans have won the previous four years. J.T. Poston, who won the event in 2019, will return this season.

How Money Line Works?

Moneyline betting is by far the easiest way to place a sports wager. There are no point spreads to parse, no garbage-time free throws to ruin your betting day, and no last-minute meaningless touchdowns to take you from a winner to a loser.

How to Bet Odds

When we, as sports fans, learned our multiplication tables, we aced the number 7. Seven, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42 were easy because we all watched football on the weekends. Multiplication by sevens, then add a three, a six after a missed PAT.

How to Bet on NFL Games

Baseball is America’s pastime, but football is America’s crazed passion, with its weekly schedule of games, millions of television viewers across the country and the world, and the billion-dollar stadiums that serve as Sunday cathedrals in 32 American cities.

What is the Spread?

If you are a golfer or have ever played on a bowling team, think of a point spread like a handicap. It is a way for two teams of differing abilities to play each other on equal footing.  The better team, and the favorite in the game, gives a certain amount …
